My name is Francesc Font, and I am a farmer, agricultural engineer, international consultant specializing in regenerative agriculture, author of the books ‘Rooted in the Earth’ and ‘Regenerative Agriculture: Why, How, and What,’ and founder of The Regen Academy.

In 2013, I realized that I couldn’t continue using conventional practices in my vineyard, cereal, and olive crops. I was barely breaking even, spending almost as much as I earned on fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. I was barely making a living, relying heavily on subsidies. Moreover, I could see firsthand that my lands were becoming increasingly impoverished.

That’s when I discovered a new methodology called regenerative agriculture. Initially skeptical, I eventually became convinced that it was the way forward.

Since then, we have completely turned around the family business. Today, I can sleep soundly knowing that even as fertilizer and pesticide prices continue to rise, we are minimally affected because we use them sparingly. Our Can Font estate is becoming more fertile and profitable, and the products we produce are valued higher in the market for being toxin-free and of exceptional quality.

Over the years, I have helped hundreds of farmers make a similar transition to what we did, and I have gained a deep understanding of the steps needed to successfully transform a project into regenerative agriculture.
